There's a example.qgs file in the main folder, not mentioned in the docs (but many .qgs files are neither mentioned in docs). However this file seems to be a QGIS 1.8 file. Worth keeping?

bump And it refers to a bunch of shapefiles that aren't in the download (./school_property.shp for one).

@DelazJ, if this file is not referenced in the text and is outdated, I suggest you remove it.

I'm working on the training manual update and what i miss is project files that match the exercises proposed. I suspect this file is one of them; not intended to be used in the training but for trainers/doc writers for reference. I'd like to keep it in the meantime (and maybe will move an updated version to the documentation repo if confirmed).

Datasets referenced in the project file that are missing in the training data:

  • rural.shp (Generated in 9.4.16 Finding rural areas from Generalised_Zoning_Dissolve_UTM33S.
    shp
    - which I found and can add to exercise_data.)
  • school_property.shp (created in 6.1.1 Follow Along: The Layer Creation Dialog) (but under projected_data/: schools_33S.shp)
  • streets.shp (may be exercise_data/more_analysis/streets/Street_Names_UTM33S.shp - )
  • test.shp
  • urban.shp (but under projected_data/: urban_33S.shp)

Referenced datasets that are present in the training data (but the *.shp ones are in the shapefiles directory):

  • rivers.shp
  • places.shp
  • water.shp
  • four rasters (satellite images? - example: 3420C_2010_327_RGB_LATLNG.tif)
