Which snmp command is used by SNMP Exporter?

I recently installed SNMP Exporter version 24.1 which is up and running. I would like to know which SNMP command is used by SNMP Exporter to scrape data on the devices.

Is it snmpwalk / snmpbulkwalk / snmpget etc.
Is there a page/document where I can find this information ?

Our snmp-exporter is installed in AZ and when scraping the data on Aristas we found that the we are receiving incomplete data and when my colleague did some troubleshooting he found that in tcpdump the fragment size is reaching 1500 which is not accepted by AZ as it needs some fragments for buffer (header/footer). The same incomplete scraping is not happening when scraped from a on-prem server. So we requested the team to set the max transmit size as 1400 so that the fragments will not reach 1500.

Due to some vulnerability/bug Arista's are no more allowed to set a limit on the transmit size. And they want to change it to default which is 65536.

Now, when I scrape data using snmp exporter the fragment size never touched 1500. I saw somewhere that snmp exporter will use snmpbulkwalk with -Cr25 option. If this is true then I want to use the same command manually to run the bulk walk with different -Cr value and find out if we really get stuck on SNMP scraping at some point.

Unfortunately my colleague is no more available so the reason thought of checking with the snmp community directly.

We default to 25 max-repetions for the bulkwalks - see comment in the generator docs (look for max_repetitions) https://github.com/prometheus/snmp_exporter/tree/main/generator#file-format

Thank you very much for your reply. max_repetitions (-Cr) is only used in snmp bulk walk. So, this means snmp exporter will use only snmpbulkwalk. Is this correct?

I will proceed my testing with snmpbulkwalk command.
