servicemonitor can not show on promethues target

i am apply this yaml ,but it cat not show on promethues target
if i change namespace to default or kube-system or monitoring ,it can show on promethues target ,i do not why

You need to configure your prometheus to be able to discover ServiceMonitors in other namespaces. This is done with serviceMonitorNamespaceSelector in Prometheus object.

I also ran into this same issue and despite setting up serviceMonitorNamespaceSelector correctly, my service monitor still isn't recognized. Here it mentions roles and role bindings setup as well. Don't you mean to follow that guide? But I think it's very outdated.

@paulfantom Any update on monitoring applications in another namespace. I am having the same issue. Can you perhaps direct me to the relevant docs for this. I am assuming that additional RBAC rules need to be configured, could not find any documentation on this.
