No sound on Medion S2218 #32
Comments
I have re-installed a clean Ubuntu 18.04 and then updated to the current (pre-beta) 18.10, with a 4.17 kernel. Blacklisted No sound, just a dummy device. |
Now blacklisted I don't find much helpful advice, as this seems to be a rather rare device to install Linux on. Any guide on how to fix this would be welcome. Thanks. |
|
There is still only a dummy audio output. Please advise on how I can help fixing this issue. Here are some fresh diagnostics with an updated OS install, in the hope that they are useful.

Hi there,
first of all, thanks.
I'm trying to get a Medion S2218 ready for the kids. It still stubbornly refuses to work and I don't really know where to look for clues right now.
This is a default Ubuntu 18.04 installation, using an updated

andsnd_hdmi_lpe_audio
modules and the current UCM files from this repository'schtrt5645
directory.Here's the output of alsa-info: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=4e5aa7bf41fb0cb80d0b1ccddeebfa892c371321
There appears to be a proper soundcard setup, I can choose a device in the pulseaudio mixer, but there is no sound coming out of the device's speaker or headphone jack.
Thanks for any advice on how to resolve this.
