[Feature Request] Add Markup support for Posts

I know this was asked before for bio and I know it is not supported by activity pub, but are there plans for easy markup-language support like markdown for posts?

At least for bold and italic and only on the platform.

The outgoing traffic to Activitypub could be cleansed before forwarding.

Markdown it completely supported by ActivityPub, there are lots of fedi servers that support it. It depends on how you want different servers to interpret it though as Mastodon only supports limited very HTML and most of the fediverse users are on Mastodon servers.

the json-ld makes it possible to provide multiple formats even. As you said a lot of servers support it so why not do it as well for pixelfed.

so we'd need to research how other fediverse services handle it.
