Hey @nunesunil , this is a possibility in the future since we use Drizzle as the underlying ORM. No timeline on this, but we'll evaluate it this year, especially if it aids in those wanting to move off of WordPress. |

Hi, I recently joined a company that has migrated from WordPress to a custom CMS built with PHP and MySQL. We’re currently using cPanel for our hosting, which only supports MySQL (with PostgreSQL being deprecated in upcoming cPanel updates).
We’re now planning to upgrade our website to use React (Next.js) for the frontend, while keeping our custom CMS. I’ve been looking into using Payload CMS as a headless CMS solution for its flexibility and ease of use. However, I’ve encountered an issue: Payload CMS currently doesn't support MySQL out of the box, and my team is heavily tied to MySQL for our database.
Is there any existing plugin, or work underway, to add MySQL support to Payload CMS? If not, I’d be interested in collaborating or getting some pointers on how we might go about building one.
