How do I add local mounted music(not network)?

I have Home Assistant running on Unraid as a VM. I have my Unraid media shared to the VM. I can mount and browse the media in HA. I can do this through SSH and I can do this through a Shell Command in HA. I can browse and play the media files in the Media tab in HA. How do I add this to Music Assistant?

I know that I can add this as a network share. I don't want to add the overheard of sending the files to my router and back to the same machine just to access them.

Have you tried the file system local disk provider?

Based on what I have heard others do in a similar situation

Try adding another Mount in HA at Settings Storage and then add network storage. If it is created you can add it in MA as being Local Disk

I get that and I have gotten that to work. My issue is that it adds the overhead of my network when the storage is located on the same physical machine. I should be able to mount it as local storage in MA.

I figured out how to mount it in MA. I just need to automate it so it does it on start and persists between updates. See my reply.

No the idea above is to mount it in HA. Then, as I understand it, it is local. I can see my HA /media folder in MA using the local disk option. I am not sure why you are getting the error you stated above. ...unless I misunderstood what you said above then ignore all this :-)

Unless I am not understanding the meanings of the words I am seeing, adding a network storage in the HA settings is still going through the network. My HA devices is connecting to my Unraid server through my router. Is that not how it works or is there a way to mount local disks in HA that are available to Add-ons?

Yeah it might be just a terminology thing but you would have to ask the HA peeps. I assumed that even though it is called network storage that if it is on the host machine it would get it directly.

Okay, I can mount my share in MA. I SSH into HA and then
docker exec -it <MAContainer> sh
mkdir -p /media/unraid && mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio,version=9p2000.L,posixacl,cache=loose nas_media /media/unraid

My problem now is how do I persist this between updates (something I fear is not possible) or how do I automate this process on restart and automatically reload the MA local storage music provider. Even when doing it manually, the MA assumes local storage is broken on startup.

Yeah you are on your own there (and I don’t know the answer). That is not supported and we don’t advise users to enter the container.
