What works:
Basically, LMDE 5 Cinnamon 32-bit works correctly. Even Cinnamon runs with hardware acceleration enabled. Which is suprising when taking into consideration what has been explained below.
What does not work:
This Acer Aspire One D260 does not fulfil the minimum system requirements for running LMDE 5.
The Atom N450 single core CPU is not powerful enough.
The internal Intel Graphics chips is not powerful enough.
The built-in 990 MB main memory is insufficient.
As a consequence, LMDE 5 runs in an extremely slow manner on this netbook.
Watching (Youtube) videos is actually impossible.
In brief words, this machine will teach you the beauty of an extremely slow life style.
What does work:
Visiting the Linux Mint forums, reading and writing posts there does work.
Visiting Github does work, obviously.
Surfing the web does work, but avoid any bloated websites, which display a high number of advertisements.
