How do i get rid of this create new repository drop down menu?

I have a drop down menu that won't go away and blocks my access to certain features in Github. I need this banner removed asap

I have the same issue in Chromium on macOS (not in Firefox). The menu under + in the top right (New repository etc) won't go away even when clicking around, clicking the + button, or opening menu items

Confirming I have the same issue using Chrome on iPadOS. Very annoying. I have tried clearing the cache (all time), log out/in. Doesn’t go away. However logging into Safari does not have the issue and other devices do not have the issue. I don’t really want to go down the route of removing and reinstalling Chrome due to a large number of open tabs containing work in progress.
