I think everyone's account followed a random user/organization which caused all the random star activity messages. Just unfollow the account to fix it. In my case, facebookresearch was followed without my knowledge and a bunch of star activity for their repos showed up in my feed. (edit: pretty sure I just forgot I followed lol 🥲 kinda crazy if GitHub had a bug like that) |

For me, I was getting a lot of random users starring repositories in a popular organization that I followed. Unfollowing the org removed the noise from my feed, but whatever caused this change needs to be reverted, it's all too much. |

So stupid new feature! Just bring back the old dashboard and everyone would be happy! |

Because of these UI changes (Activity overview is useless, Feed, etc.) I downgraded from Pro to normal account. And now this annoying star notifications from people I am not interested in... |

I encountered the same situation, which started 12 hours ago. I found that it started pushing the star status of repos of the organizations I follow. I tried unfollowing the organization and it solved the problem. |

I've noticed that my homepage is showing non-follower's star activity, even though I haven't followed any organisations. EDIT: I've found an option named 'Include events from starred repositories'. I've turned it off and I'm going to test it to see if it works. |

+1 - super annoying, the same is true for all these merge requests in some projects I have nothing to do with and it does not care about my "preferences" that I don't want to see such things. |

I have the same problem. As mentioned by others, unfollowing the organization helps, but still posting so this issue gains traction. |

Hi Community! Thank you all for your posts and comments on the recent Feed bug. The bug was related to starred repositories, which is why we see some people saying the fix is to uncheck "Include events from starred repositories". The Feed team has pushed an update to address the issue; please leave us feedback in this separate post so we can monitor its effectiveness. |
