So I've got this solar/dynamo? flashlight. since Jay seemed to like the idea of a knijpkat.
Last picture, from right to left… pull cord, pulley, gears, dynamo? & battery compartment.
To much for a badge itself. However, if a SAO can provide charge to the badge... This could be an excellent, more limited edition, SAO to sell.
RN:
I really like the idea of charging the badge from solar or hand cranked tool, but a small sanity check: the mch2022 badge for example already connects the charger chip directly to the usb port. Couldn't you just use a crank / solar panel to the usb-c port? Would be able to charge other things too == less ewaste
J:
I'd be happy with a USB version. 👍 I just want a wide range of add-ons (sao, usb, qwic or otherwise) to use/build/assemble/tinker/…
RN:
Yes indeed 😁 hopefully we can add more than just I2C for extending the badge. MCH2022 already has Qwiic on it too, just in an akward spot, next time I will put it next to the USB-C port
J:
The larger the ecosystem of weird gadgets/addons the larger the number of weirdos crawling from under the rocks to do even more & even weirder things.
