Date type in unclear from documentation

I can't find the type for the date property. http://docs.opencultuurdata.nl/user/api.html?highlight=date

Other searches on date only explain the granularity. Probably it's ISO something, just a small note would be usefull as Elastic Search has many options, and a search on this site would give results in a couple of minutes
