Metrics dev/experimental releases plan #1701

Hello. As far as I understand it would take some time to get metrics spec (and then implementation) finalized for the OTel in general and also to make beta releases happen for GA (as per the roadmap announcement). I am wondering would it be possible to jump on the current/experimental implementation of metrics a little bit earlier than that (even in its current shape)? Is there a plan to release some "dev/experimental releases" in the meantime? That would be immensely helpful to gauge, follow and incrementally adapt to what is coming. |

Sounds good. Thanks for the quick response @codeboten. By the way, do you have a tentative date for the mentioned release? Just an estimate would be already helpful to plan internally within my team work connected to the metrics side of things. |

metricsbranch shortly after the 1.0.0 release is out.
