Hook for user roles

Following on from the issue i replied to, it might be a good feature to be able to block users based on roles?

I currently am manually adding the code to AuthenticationService.php in the authenticateUser function but gets replaced with each update

    ); 
 }

Another option could be if you could add a hook so we could do an additional injection of all kinds?
