[Feature Request] Show automatically new news items on VueJS implementation

The "old" News app automatically showed new news articles - the new one doesn't. Only refreshing the whole browser page would show any new news articles.

It would be nice to have VueJS to automatically show new news articles as soon as they would be availabl.e

What was the problem when you tested this?
I think this should work now with the current master. With the implementation of #2827 I had the problem that when changing the opened states of a folder or hiding feeds/folders, the feed items were removed and only the folders were shown. I fixed that with 98811c6.
The only thing that is additional needed is to call FETCH_ITEMS, FETCH_UNREAD, FETCH_ALL, etc depending the route (this.fetchKey).

Nice, R really seems to do something now in the master branch, that's awesome. I hope that gets into a new release soon! 🥳🎉

Now I only need an option in folders to hide feeds with no unread items. 😊

I think we've talked past each other. I meant your patch should work meanwhile. But I already have added a way to do this without replacing the state. This will come with the changes in #2844.

Maybe, but when I tested master I really though R was doing something. 😆 There was a request made every time I pressed R. 😊 Must have been a fluke.

What would you expect from the automatic refresh?
Only refreshing the counter in the sidebar so that you know that there is something new?
Or also refreshing the item list you currently have open?

There are two cases when refreshing the item list:

Ordering oldest -> newest new items will append at the end of the list, so here is nothing special to do, you can simply read new messages as they appear.

Ordering newest -> oldest means new items will be sorted on top

Should the automatic refresh scroll the item list automatically to top? (which ca be disturbing if you read the last article at this moment)
Same for refreshing the list completely.
So here I think an automatic refresh should only refresh the counter on the sidebar and a manual refresh when pressing 'r' resets the item list and scrolls to the top.

Refreshing the counter would be a good start point. So I would click "unread articles" to see the new ones.
