@jnbeta Amazing feedback and suggestions. Really appreciate you for taking time to five us this valuable feedback. Let me address some points here - In Hypothesis section -
In Problems section - We are launching CloudLink - which should solve the latency part as user can select the server from any cloud provider which suits them the best. Increased bandwidth we need to do more benchmarking with different internet speeds how much Neverinstall is consuming. We did some benchmarking but we know there are lot of parameters to cover and would definitely learn from our users metrics. Let's keep this discussion going after the launch and see if we have covered or getting better at solving those problems. Thank you! |

Slow refresh rate. causes input sync problem. Everything is fine except its making delay to show the output. As i checked the input is ok because whenever I refreshed the tab i saw that my input is there. |

Title: Idea to fix continuous scheduling session on spaces
Statement of the Problem:
When resuming from your paused spaces, your screen is stuck at "Scheduling space..." and takes very long time if not any to get to the desktop, where if ever, with poor server quality (server stream to client desktop) and reconnections. The End user gets frustrated with long wait times and even more impatient when the end user is on a premium account, therefore leading to degrading user experience.
From my personal experience, and where others posts online (ie: reddit) supported my statement and might have experienced the same issue. Sometimes the space worked but did prompt a session limit. This happens at a time (considered off peak in my area) where I try to use the space, which is very inconvenient. (Also insert backstory here of how neverinstall was small back in the days and how it grew to today)
Hypothesis:
Neverinstall team could fix this issue by either
(A) letting users download the entire workspace on a VMDX file (virtual machine image) and running it locally, and optionally commit the changes when the end user is finished.
(B) allowing the users to select a location where peak time is low (user choice) and try to run it there
(C) automatically choosing the location where it can run the "space" with low demand successfully regardless of initial server
(D) Neverinstall Spaces Reservation System - Premium Users reserve a time slot to lock a space where they are guarantee to have a working space. GP System that refills to a set limit and used up for each reservation, Free users only get their spaces on low demand.
Problems:
(A) Increased bandwidth usage, end user needs good computer, increased storage usage, end user also needs excellent bandwidth.
(B) Increased server bandwidth and resource usage, end user have to compromise on a location, more latency, consistent but long wait time, may need dedicated storage server to hold all the workspaces
(C) Increased server bandwidth and resource usage, end user have no choice on location, more latency, moderate wait time, may need dedicated storage server to hold all the workspaces
(D) Free users go brrr, due to limited server space, end users fight for time slots and end users have to wait and schedule in advance, like a "online" library computer
Results:
With the problems considered, this suggestion may have value due to giving users ability to choose when servers are full, decrease resource usages that lead to peak usage, mitigate users from defaulting to one location, and overall shared spaces where end users are at least able to use their space.
Cloudlink is a great feature, but I don't know if this can be integrated to existing spaces, ie: transfers neverinstall spaces to your own servers and back to save.
