It would be useful for assistants if the users were required to select
between "presentation" and "help".

Additionally I think it would also be useful if the users had to fill
in which labs they want to examined or want help with.

+1 on a new field to select between "presentation" and "help", though it might be good if it had a catch-all "other" option as well.

The idea we had last year was to introduce a tag system. The queue owner of each queue would define tags that can be applied for that queue, e.g. presentation, help, lab3, etc, and the user can click on tags to add to his/her queue position.

@dflemstr Doesn't that feel a bit chaotic? Yeah problably do not need more than presenation/help and labs.
