RAS Layer Test Plan

1. Introduction

This document outlines the test plan for the Radio Access Stratum (RAS) layer of the 5G NR modem software. The purpose of this test plan is to ensure the correctness, reliability, and performance of the RAS layer implementation.

2. Test Objectives

The main objectives of the RAS layer testing are:

  • Verify the functionality of the RAS layer APIs.
  • Validate the data transmission and reception processes.
  • Test the error handling mechanism.
  • Ensure the robustness and stability of the RAS layer under different scenarios.

3. Test Scope

The test scope covers the following components and functionalities of the RAS layer:

  • RAS initialization
  • Data transmission
  • Data reception
  • Error handling

4. Test Environment

The tests will be conducted in the following environment:

  • Hardware: [Specify the hardware setup]
  • Software: [Specify the software tools and versions]
  • Modem: [Specify the modem model and firmware version]

5. Test Cases

5.1. RAS Initialization

  • TC_RAS_INIT_001: Test the successful initialization of the RAS layer.
  • TC_RAS_INIT_002: Test the handling of initialization errors.

5.2. Data Transmission

  • TC_RAS_TX_001: Test the transmission of valid data.
  • TC_RAS_TX_002: Test the transmission of empty data.
  • TC_RAS_TX_003: Test the transmission of data exceeding the maximum size.
  • TC_RAS_TX_004: Test the handling of transmission errors.

5.3. Data Reception

  • TC_RAS_RX_001: Test the reception of valid data.
  • TC_RAS_RX_002: Test the reception of data exceeding the buffer size.
  • TC_RAS_RX_003: Test the handling of reception errors.

5.4. Error Handling

  • TC_RAS_ERR_001: Test the handling of invalid parameter errors.
  • TC_RAS_ERR_002: Test the handling of transmission errors.
  • TC_RAS_ERR_003: Test the handling of reception errors.

6. Test Execution

The tests will be executed manually by the testing team. Each test case will be executed multiple times to ensure consistency and reliability.

7. Test Deliverables

The following deliverables will be generated as part of the testing process:

  • Test case specifications
  • Test execution logs
  • Test report summarizing the test results and any issues found

8. Schedule

The testing phase will commence on [Start Date] and is expected to be completed by [End Date]. The detailed test schedule will be maintained separately.
