How to prevent the window (not tab) title from changing

O/S version: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22631.4169]
Terminal version: 1.21.2361.0

I'd like to start wt with an arbitrary title, and have it never change.

e.g.,
wt --title foo

I know I can do "suppressApplicationTitle": true to prevent the title command from changing it.
But the window title can be changed later by things like:

• Renaming the current tab
• Opening a new tab
  • e.g., opening a PowerShell tab will change the window title to "PowerShell"

I just want the title of the window to remain the initial title, and have it never change. Regardless of the titles of the tabs.

First, if it's not blocking you, you're able to simply suppress caption bars of windows by toggling the corresponding option in the settings of Windows Terminal under Appearance. Toggling the option and saving your settings requires relaunching the application for the changes to take effect.

Second, if the previous workaround isn't an option, you can click on Defaults in the left pane of the settings of Windows Terminal under Profiles. Clicking on Tab title allows you to define a custom and fixed entry for all future launches of your application profiles as per personal preference. In the event you require some distinction between captions, you can click on a specific application profile in the left pane and define your caption entry per such profile. Please note that replacing the entry under Defaults will target all your profiles.

Clicking the curly arrow next to Tab title will restore system defaults, either for all profiles (under Defaults) or only specific profiles .

Third, in the bottom left of Windows Terminal, you can click on Open JSON file to open the file settings.json. Add the entry you had previously used, "suppressApplicationTitle": true to that file, save your settings and relaunch Windows Terminal.

Last but not least, hard-locking caption bar entries may or may not be possible in the Regisitry Editor of the operating system.

That’s definitely something we haven’t fleshed out - giving the application window a title other than “Windows Terminal” but not putting the console application in control of it. There isn’t a way to do this today.
