@splendido talked a ton about merging accounts-meld w/ useraccounts, is this still on the radar?

What we've decided to do with this is try to change how the core account system handles multiple providers per user, so this will take some time to finish up.

splendido:accounts-meld is "battle-proven", but this code is used in production by at least one live app, and I've yet to see any serious problems with it. I've chosen not to publish it as a package based on the direction me, @brettle and @splendido decided to take with this account merging thing.

If you wanna use this, just clone the repo's master branch into your packages folder and do meteor add useraccounts:one-account and you should be able to use this.

I've been looking to get involved, was thinking about working in this space. Do you use any issue tracking, or just winging it? :)

This is one of the most critical areas to a strong platform, so 👍 from me!

I will say, I don't use useraccounts -- I've rolled my own, and there is certainly some benefit to the standalone package. Hopefully @splendido will keep accounts-meld around.

@brettle has been the one taking point on this and we're working out of https://github.com/meteor-useraccounts/meteor with this. So have a look in the issues here and over at that repo and then read through the new documents outlining what we have in mind for the "new" system.

Don't have issue access over at that repo.

Oh yeah, we haven't opened the issues over there, we've been working out of the new documents and this issue tracker, but I'll open the issue tracker on that repo so we can keep discussions about the new system over there =)

edit: don't have admin access on that repo, so we'll need to wait until @splendido open up the issue tracker for the meteor repository.
