Is it possible to slow down the open and collapse animations, and maybe make the sidebar a little larger?

I just started using Firefox today and downloaded Sidebery. There are two things I'd like to adjust on my browser if possible. First, the sidebar is showing and hiding faster than I feel like I can react and I want the animation to be about half as fast for comfort's sake. The other thing is I often accidentally move my mouse slightly off the sidebar before I'm done with it, so I'd like to make it a bit bigger to minimize how frequently this happens. Does anyone have a way to change either of these things? I fucked around in the settings for a good 30 minutes and couldn't figure it out. If the settings exist, it might just be because I'm dumb or new to Firefox though. Would appreciate the expertise of people who know more about this than I do. Thanks!
