[Proposal] Use releases to document changes to API and alert about changes #121

Hi,
is it possible to use Releases and document changes in API?
A lot of people made apps using this API, so it would be a way to at least have some sort of version history and see info about what breaking changes were made.
Introducing API versions and let people use older version for at least a week to give them time to support new changes would be really nice.

currently, we struggle to manage this repo, but we welcoming for a PR,
thank you, this is also our main concern.
