The library at its infancy didn't have a clear scope but as it is used the needs are becoming more apparent.

Practically there are a number of conventions regarding the data that can be merged to just two:

Source data, which includes: data(), _data, _raw
Chart data, which includes: _raw, models, axis(), _axis

The different naming conventions can be merged which may result to a more logical schema.
