I made a note in the README about having an SDL2 branch for details on the current stable version, but that might not be worth it.

Either remove that note from the README or make a branch.

Can you create an empty SDL2 branch? I don't have commit access.

Having a SDL2 branch would be useful as I see lots of people having issues on discord.

I also wonder whether we should rename the main branch to SDL3 to avoid any misunderstanding.

I did the same at https://github.com/madebr/sdlcross
