2024-12-17 - Android app crashes when trying to share a full log #11528
Comments
Hi @CoffeeHT, I am currently using Joplin version 3.1.8 on Android, and I haven't encountered the issue described above. I've recorded a video of the process on my device, showing that after clicking the "Share" button, I'm able to download or share the log successfully without any crashes. Could there be another method or workaround for getting this error for others? If anyone has any suggestions or additional troubleshooting steps, I'd be happy to try them out and see if it helps. @laurent22 @personalizedrefrigerator Thanks! Untitled.design.1.mp4 |

I'm marking this as "not stale". One possibility is that a very long log entry is preventing export. Currently, the number of entries returned is limited by the number of entries, not by total log length. |
The problem still exists – also with Joplin Mobile 3.2.7 (prod, android) |
Operating system
Android
Joplin version

Current behaviour
A problem with the Android app that has been preventing me from troubleshooting for months, but which I'm finally reporting today.
If you want to export (share) the complete log of the Android app, you won't see any reaction from the app for some seconds.
Then, the app quits without comment = crashes.
Latest timestamp in the log AFTER the crash:
12-17T14:31:58
Latest timestamp in the log before the crash:
12-17T14:27:41
Latest timestamp of an error message in the log after the crash:
12-17T11:01:11
So no error message in the log from this crash.
