Trying to run `nixos/nix` fails to run setup #6

When trying to run the nixos/nix image on isle it fails to run its setup:

$ linux -V 3 -i docker.io/nixos/nix
2023-05-18T09:24:31.168-0700 [INFO]  linux: autostarting VM in background...
2023-05-18T09:24:34.171-0700 [INFO]  linux: connecting to local socket
2023-05-18T09:24:34.175-0700 [INFO]  linux: running command: command=3
error establishing container: error running setup

All following runs will fail with:

$ linux -V 3 -i docker.io/nixos/nix
2023-05-18T09:25:50.426-0700 [INFO]  linux: autostarting VM in background...
2023-05-18T09:25:53.430-0700 [INFO]  linux: connecting to local socket
2023-05-18T09:25:53.439-0700 [INFO]  linux: running command: command=3
error establishing connection as user: open /data/containers/isle/rootfs/etc/passwd: no such file or directory
