The species profile and graphs we added to the species pages a while ago have been useful up to a point but we would like to add to this if possible. Could you give us an estimate of the cost/time to add the following?

  1. As well as the 10km occupancy chart, also have 2km grid square occupancy chart
  2. For each of the 10/2 grid squares, have a cumulative occupancy chart based on all squares with at least one the record in an agreed time frame - say 10 years. (This should give us a more meaningful idea of distribution). This would still show bars for the last 10 years to show change over this time, but each annual bar is based on the recorded occupancy over the previous 10 years.
  3. Would it be possible to add overlays to the VC55 map showing the occupied 10+2km squares?
  4. A minor point, add the scientific name to the profile box as well as the common name.
  5. I think it may be better not to include the current year in the charts as it isn't comparable being less than 12 months for most of year. Though the phenology chart is OK left as is.

If you have any other ideas on this theme then we would be pleased to hear them! I'm hoping that we can get this funded by the Local Nature Recovery Strategy to enable better monitoring.
