Can't get inter-commits to detect changes in files #1

Not sure what to expect, but I did

$ perl6 watch.p6 watch

in a Git repository. The script creates a directory .inter-commit, but then it just sits there. It doesn't log any output when I create, change, or delete files.

Also, the CPU usage goes up to 199%, which feels a tad high for a solution that's not supposed to rely on polling.
