ESP-IDF with Arduino as a Component Undefined Reference (to Module)

I'm pulling my hair out with this one. I am trying to wean myself off the Arduino platform (I was using it with PlatformIO, but the latest spat between PIO and Espressif means I want to go native)

ESP-IDF & Arduino as a component

I have incorporated RadioLib as a managed component in IDF
idf_component.yml:

I don't think you need anything more in CMakeLists.txt but here is the one in main:

but when the linker tries to link it all together it fails to find "Module" from this line

with the error

I'm sure I must be missing something in one of the cmake files or the idf_component files but I have no idea what. The other managed components work just fine.

Any ideas?

We have an ESP-IDF example which builds in the CI so on the library side everything should be fine. Off the top of my head, you seem to be missing RadioLib from the REQUIRES section of idf_component_register. which I presume is what tells the linker which libraries to link.

Thank you for the quick response. I did have RadioLib in the idf_component_register but with managed components you don’t need it there - in fact it complains Failed to resolve component 'RadioLib'. I did try as a ‘regular’ component by clone the repo and having it under components and added it into the idf_component_register but same result.
I did see that example you have but I was using Arduino as a component so I thought I didn’t have to mess around with the HAL, but something is very odd. I did a minimal example of just a few lines

#include "RadioLib.h"

SX1268 radio = new Module(34, 6, 255, 5);

extern "C" void app_main()
{
    initArduino();
    pinMode(4, OUTPUT);
    digitalWrite(4, HIGH);
    // Do your own thing

but it gives the same error - Missing reference.

I'll carry on messing and report back if I get anywhere.
