Is there a way to resize panels and hide others?

Is there a way to hide or resize individual panels?

I don't seem to find a configuration parameter or hotkey for it

I'd like to dedicate more screen space to the Files panel, and less to e.g. branches

Update:

I just stumbled on the "next screen mode (normal/half/fullscreen)" buttons (+ / _ ).

That does the trick for me.
