How to make an up-to-date installation? #26
Comments
Hi, have you made any progress on this in the meanwhile? |
Unfortunately not. I tried an install w/ 2.10, it sort of succeeded but many things weren't working (touchscreen, keyboard, wifi, bluetooth, sound). It's gathering dust now. |
Ah shucks, thanks anway for the answer. |
Hi, I hope to make the new installer in the next day or two. |
Oh my! Awesome!! 😍 Feel free to ask for beta testing, it would be a pleasure. |
@jekhor That would be absolutely awesome! |
@jekhor , Hello, I'm also interested in linux on yoga book, have you not made an installer yet? |
@V1QR I am sorry, still not :( Life in our region does not add enthusiasm because of the Russia invasion into Ukraine, but I still hope to find strength for this. |
Oh my 😟 don't worry and take care, real life always comes first. Good luck!! |
@proofrock thanks, I am in relative safe place for now but live in Belarus, the country which is involved in the war in the most shameful way. |
At least the frontline is not near. And I hope this situation ends soon, not only the war (also that), but the need for putting a label to people, because of this war... "russian", "belarusian", "ukrainian", "westerner"... we are just people. 🤨 |
Hi,
first of all: incredible work. Just incredible. Thanks, I had a big, black, YB1-shaped paperweight, and now I'm beginning to see the light.
I'd like to know, if possible, how to perform a state-of-the-art installation on my YB1; what I tried so far:
follow the wiki route (Ubuntu), but 2.10 is quite old and the procedure is not aligned to the last release, that doesn't have the ubuntu-yb.tar.gz file
I tried with 21.04, installing the kernel deb from the latest release - a long shot - but the halo keyboard and sound don't work (the rest does)
the live CD in the latest release works like a charm, but it's not installable :-(
Can I perhaps
dd
the live cd on the HDD? Will it persist the data? What would happen if I update the packages of the debian? Thanks again, and have an happy summer ☀️
