Register EID Wrapper for VBA application #12
Comments
You started the x86 installer version on a x64 system, try the other one.... |
Hello Johan,
Thank you for your prompt reaction.
I tried to Register via the x64 map; however I have a 32-bit Office on a 64-bit Windows.
I get some error messages, see the first screen shot.
When trying to read a card in my Access application I get the error mentioned in the second screen shot.

Your screenshot says otherwise, you have selected the EID.wrapper.register.exe in the x86 release map, you have to use that one in the x64 map. Just dubbelclick the right one and the rest comes automatic. |
It's a bit weird, but the version of the wrapper you need is related to the version of Office so if you are using a 32-bit version of Office you need the 32-bit wrapper. The error in your last screenshot indicates that you are using the 64-bit version of the wrapper with a 32-bit Office so you must use the 32-bit version of the wrapper. As for the original error, did you start a command prompt as administrator and then run the exe from there? It is not always enough to be a local administrator when running the exe. |
Jesper,
Just a confirmation about Administrator rights.
Yes, I used Administrator rights when executing the program EID.Wrapper.Register.exe
A first time with a right-click on the program and selecting Admin in the list (see first screen shot); a second time with Command prompt (Admin) see second screen shot..
Both give the same result …
I must say that my Access application ran correctly with the Eid reader, until TaxOnWeb asked me to update the cardreader software …
May be, this can give some solution idea …
Thanks in advance.
