ZNC has a lovely plugin which fires off push notifications for priv messages and highlights. When I'm away from my desk, it makes my phone beep and lets me know that I should hop on IRC to deal with stuff.

Pretty please add this to IRCrelay—it's the feature standing between me and dropping ZNC (and a linode to run it).

Thanks @idan, we agree wholeheartedly. This feature is on our to-do list, and it's great to hear the extra motivation to implement it.

@mitchellh and I will respond back here with updates and timeline estimates as we work through it.

I came here to suggest/request this too. So you can count this as a +1 for your motivation!

I'd like to see a more general notifications system - for example email notifications. I hacked together a ghetto email notifications plugin for ZNC which I've been running. It was horrible because I spent almost no time on it and I kinda suck at c++, but it worked!

(p.s. hi @idan, small world etc. 😄)
