Oddly enough, WordPress seems to use the full images in the media library grid, and then make those look like thumbnails by centering them in a CSS box that is square. Since they are not actually using a square-cropped thumbnail, the media library does not benefit at all from MEAUH hotspots.
Is this a known shortcoming? If so, it might be worth adding to the FAQ since users may feel MEAUH is not working otherwise.
I wonder if the plugin could hook into the media library in such a way as to adjust the positioning of the images in these CSS boxes? Or maybe to force the use of square thumbnails?
Does anyone have any idea why WP has gone this route for the media library?
