Roadmap of project #125
Comments
Vivarium is working and fairly stable, I fix bugs when I find them as do at least one or two other contributors, but I'm not putting much effort into developing new features. The next thing I do will probably be to try switching to the wlroots scene-graph api because it should simplify Vivarium's internals but that won't be user-visible other than that it might fix some subtle bugs (since the shared api will have had more eyes on it that Vivarium's layout rendering code). That is to say, there isn't a strong roadmap for new features, I have some things I'm interested in trying but for the most part Vivarium is stable and has all the core features I wanted. I don't mean that it's finished or perfect, there's a great deal that could be done to improve it in a general sense and I'm happy to look at merging contributions that do so. However, it's met its core goal of being frictionless for its core use case of being sufficiently complete to pick up and try (in my opinion) and frictionless for my own use case. |
@inclement got it! Thanks for the response. I've build it on my machine with Alpine. But I have a lot of small questions which is out of scope of github tickets. I've sent the one of the question to irc of the project (#vivarium on libera) but did not get any response. Could we please continue conversation in irc? |
Sure, I'll keep an eye on the irc chat. What's your irc nick? |
Hello. I'm sway user. I'm looking for dynamic window manager since I've migrated to Wayland.
What is a current status and roadmap of the project?
