The s/w described in the post converts vectors to 3D, not the other way around. It also is a plugin for Figma.
I'm not sure if the request here is to use vectors for FavIcon or something else. Downsampling the geometry and associated textures is not an easy problem and there are tradeoffs that need to be made. There are commercial tools/services that reduce geometric complexity.
I do remember Rik discussing a few use cases for this. I wonder if there has been any demand/requests for this capability since the last time the WG had a serious discussion on the topic (2+ years ago?)
