I think this repository should be archived so users don't get confused and think this is still maintained.

Agreed. Users are better off with some newer forks, e.g. https://github.com/jnsh/arc-theme that current relevant debian packages also are based on.

The thing is the @horst3180 account hasn't been active since mid 2017...
