A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. I'm always frustrated when [...]

Use of wifi dongle is not possible and using a metal case does not help the signal. Lots of drop out happend during music playing unfortunately. RPI4 Wifi in 2.4ghz is slow, even with a correct coverage.

Describe the solution you'd like
A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

Recompile the OS, including the wifi dongle drivers from the standard Linux.

Describe alternatives you've considered
A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.

Alternative was to do it myself and I am still trying but as this is out of my capabilities (Don't know much about Buildroot) and I am not an Linux expert by any means.

Additional context
Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

Nothing here to add other than thanks for this nice OS :)

Unfortunately it's a lot more complicated that just "recompile OS". All network configuration scripts and the UI has to be adapted to deal with this. If somebody wants to fully implement this, we're happy to integrate it. However, we will only merge it the the following is implemented:

  • list of supported WiFi chipsets
  • full UI integration
