Deprecate legacy color font formats in favour of COLRv1 #429

This issue is to track progress towards a utopian future where COLRv1 is widely supported which would allow us to stop producing the following legacy color font formats (in order of expected future deprecation):

  • CBDT (Android, Chromium)
  • SBIX (Apple, bitmap)
  • COLRv0 (old browsers)
  • SVG (still widely used)

To inform when it is time to deprecate other formats, please see:

This is likely something that will only come in a couple of years, possibly even longer. The color font wars rage on!
