Summary
One of the most common positive points of feedback we (XMTP) hear from users is around a Universal Inbox-- the ability to send and receive messages from any user across web3, not just those on Lens.
As an example, you can see that @alanse asked for this feature on Lenster previously.
Benefits to Users
The benefit for users is that they then do not have to leave Lenster in order to check for messages elsewhere. They can always stay on Lenster and have the ability to always see their messages in one place. This makes life easier for active messaging users and ensures that they do not miss messages.
Proposed Solution
As you can see from the screenshot below, Lenster could reconfigure the UI of the inbox to support Universal Messaging, while not removing any existing functionality.
As you can see, a user would be able to:
By giving users the ability to see all of their messages across web3 in Lenster, you increase the value and engagement users get from Lenster, as well as give them more ability to filter messages beyond what they have today.
