Why.js is a personal project by Kai Tamkun that serves no practical purpose; it's meant purely for entertainment and as a learning exercise. Details on the project's progress are available at the Roadmap page. A live version is available at https://people.ucsc.edu/~ktamkun/ (updated occasionally) to allow people to try the web interface without having to install nearly 100 MBs of dev dependencies (welcome to modern JS development!).
