On a htc desire 510 running on android 4.4.2 also /dev/uinput does exist and the apps events are present in getevents also
The devices are also displayed as Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS Gyroscope, Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen are also in the list
Just the keycodes are not being received by the host also did a few tests with a gamepad tester that uses getevent to get results and that concludes my issue happy app coding and good luck.
