You could create a variable and reuse it for implementation and androidTestImplementation as shown.

There is no variable.
The version is repeated for implementation and androidTestImplementation

Can you provide the update code with the mentioned variable?

Also there is an old version compared to the starter code

Version on the AndroidBasics example: compose-bom:2023.06.01
Version on the starter code: compose-bom:2023.08.00
