Request for Addition: D66 Button on Forbidden Lands Character Sheet #395
Comments
Couldnt "Dice Tray" add the D66? |
Thank you for your suggestion! I understand that the "Dice Tray" may be a solution for some users, but the addition of a D66 button directly on the character sheet would bring significant benefits in terms of usability and accessibility. By incorporating a D66 button on the character sheet, users would have direct access to this functionality without the need to navigate between different parts of the interface. This would simplify the process and make the D66 mechanic more accessible to players with varying levels of technical skill. Furthermore, including a D66 button on the character sheet would provide an integrated and specific solution for Forbidden Lands players. This would contribute to a more cohesive gaming experience, eliminating the need to search for similar features elsewhere on the platform. Additionally, it's worth noting that in the "Dice Tray," the D66 could potentially roll the value 1, which does not exist in the D66 range (equivalent to 2d6). While rolling 2d6 is an alternative, it may not be as practical. I appreciate your consideration, and I hope this suggestion is positively evaluated to enhance the Forbidden Lands user experience. |
When does a user need to roll a d66? I am also not in favour of having it on the character sheet. Having it as a macro or in the dice tray makes more sense imo. For the most part (in my experience) it would be the GM rolling the d66 when rolling on random tables. |
I am sure the dice tray can create the correct range of D66. I have a macro for D66 and D666. I also made dice colors depending on "hundreds, tens or ones". Quite easy and good to have for the encounters etc. |
I mentioned to him that due to the nature of the functionality, this addition has more to do with a macro functionality than a token functionality. |
Hi, just if someone needs this: I added the following macro and the players also put it on nr. 1 of their macro list in session zero:
|
Description
As a user of the Forbidden Lands character sheet, I have observed that creating a macro for the d66 roll can be challenging for individuals who may not possess advanced technical skills. To enhance user experience and accessibility, I propose the addition of a dedicated D66 button on the character sheet interface.
Suggested solution
The D66 button should automate the process of rolling two six-sided dice and combining their results to generate a number between 11 and 66. This feature would significantly benefit users who may find macro creation daunting or prefer a more user-friendly approach to utilizing the d66 mechanic.
Alternative

Additional context
Accessibility: A dedicated D66 button would make the Forbidden Lands character sheet more accessible to a wider audience, including users with limited technical expertise.
User-Friendly Interface: This feature aligns with the goal of providing a user-friendly experience, ensuring that all players, regardless of their technical proficiency, can easily utilize the d66 roll functionality.
Current Macro Challenges: Many users face difficulties in creating macros for complex rolls, such as the d66, leading to frustration and potential exclusion from utilizing this specific game mechanic.
Enhancing Gameplay: The addition of a D66 button would contribute to a smoother and more enjoyable gameplay experience for all users.
This issue is open for discussion, and community members are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposed feature and suggest any alternative implementations that might further enhance its usability.
Thank you for considering this enhancement request, and I look forward to the positive impact it could have on the Forbidden Lands virtual tabletop gaming experience.
