Add Chinese (Traditional/Simplified) fonts #202
Comments
@NightFurySL2001 thanks for the report! Actually it’s easy to create a formula. For the first font, you can run this inside a fork of the Formula repository from “v4” branch:
Then the new formula will be created. |
@NightFurySL2001 thank you for the suggested fonts. I have submitted a PR #203 for the following fonts:
However, there are various issues with the following fonts. As you are aware, Fontist relies on the font project to distribute fonts (typically in form of archives), different from the approach of Google Fonts. The problems I've encountered are:
The release page only provides a TTF file without a license. We can still work with it, but if you could make a release that packages the TTF with the license it would be much appreciated.
The release 1.20 is missing the artifact archive. A formula should not require downloading the entire Git repository. Can you please create a font archive release for it and upload to the release page?

This font does not have a release, it is only available from the Git repo: Can you help make a release in form of a font archive with a license for it?
The releases include the entire repository and is over 300MB and all its versions. I have filed an issue here:
The release page contains individual font files, which makes it difficult to specify in a formula. Is it possible to package them in a font archive with license? Thanks.

Sadly for these four fonts I don't think it is possible to change the release method for consistency. |
@NightFurySL2001 I think we could find a way to make it work some other time, but perhaps I'll would file an issue for them. It should be easy to add an additional archive for downloading the font files. |

@NightFurySL2001 only the "KN" fonts are remaining and I believe they are managed by you. Please ping me when they are available on the Releases page. Thanks! |
