Preflight Checklist

Problem Description

Bundling messages in the same app is an amazing convenience. But it also creates a major source of distraction when one's day is filled with a stream of notifications.

Proposed Solution

The same way messages on the same app create massive ability to connect, it also allows the ability to turn them all 'off' at the same time and increase one's productivity.

I'd like to see an option to queue notifications under certain rules. Potential suggestions for these:

  • A global setting which is the default, then optional further customisations for workspaces and individual services.
  • Time based rules: e.g. notifications are held between 23:00 and 09:00, and the ability to add multiple rules.
  • Tick boxes for days of week for each rule.

For example, this would allow one to set up rules to enable work notifications during work hours, and queue them when not, do the opposite with social notifications.

Alternatives Considered

The only alternative is to manually disable by service or globally. Considering this can involve high priority notifications, this poses the risk of missing important notifications if one forgets to turn these back on.
