Slow to log in

I am using the latest version from git. Fedora 38 OS.
The login procedure works fine but it takes arround 30 seconds to log in.
With GDM it takes 1 or 2 seconds
What can be the reason for this and how can I investigate it?

that's insane because i can't even log into my qtile instance when i use ly.service. lightdm doesn't even start. i've been trying to do magic within the tty without any success :')

How odd, I've never seen this before...
What DE are you using? I'm assuming GNOME, but I'm asking just to be sure.
I'm not sure what this long time would be caused by, I'd have to investigate.

I use i3wm but the problem occurs also with GNOME. Let me know if I should provide some additional logs or any debbuging info

I use XFCE and also suffer from a very slow start after login.

Edit: I think mine is a false alarm. I tried it with GDM today and takes just as long until the desktop shows.

Same here, I log in and then I look at a black screen for a couple of seconds.

I'm not quite sure how to debug this but I ran systemd-analyze critical-chain and I think the relevant part might be this?
Window manager is Qtile and I used it before with LightDM and it never took this long to display the desktop.
