Project License: Custom License Based on GPL-2.0

This software, GoKid, is open-source but subject to the following terms and conditions, as managed by STEM Educators Associations:

1. Usage Rights

  • You are free to use this software for personal or educational purposes, including studying, running, and testing the code.
  • You may modify the codebase to fit your specific needs and use the modified version privately.

2. Redistribution and Derivative Works

  • Redistribution of the source code or modified versions is permitted under the following conditions:
    • The redistributed code must include a clear attribution to the original author (STEM Educators Associations) and a link to the original repository.
    • If redistributed, the derived work must also be licensed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later.
    • A copy of this license must accompany any redistributed versions of the code.

3. Commercial Use

  • Commercial use of this software, whether in its original form or as a derivative, is strictly prohibited without prior written consent from the copyright holder (STEM Educators Associations).
  • To request permission for commercial use, please contact STEM Educators Associations at [email protected].

4. Trademark and Branding Restrictions

  • The project name ("GoKid") and associated logos are registered trademarks of STEM Educators Associations. These trademarks are protected and may not be used in any derivative work, redistributed version, or publication without explicit written consent.
  • If you create a derivative work, you must rename the project and remove any references to the original branding, including the project name, logo, and other identifiers.

5. Prohibited Uses

The following uses of this software are prohibited:

  • Using this software or its derivatives to engage in illegal or malicious activities.
  • Representing any derivative or modified version of this software as the original project, "GoKid."
  • Removing or altering copyright notices, licensing terms, or attribution from the codebase.
