Did the "Release" folder referenced in the installation notes disappear?

Seems to have been removed in fa8dd6f. You can access the prior version of it here:

https://github.com/elgatosf/streamdeck-cpu/tree/e5a04d3d0cc22cabe11221104909a3e0ccb6292f/Release

(The file is just a zip file, so if you rename it to .zip you can extract the contents)

Not sure if the C++ sample has been abandoned, but after checking the JS sample, I could find the missing step:
After building the binary, you copy the file in Sources/com.elgato.cpu.sdPlugin and then generate the streamDeckPlugin file with the DistributionTool available here : https://developer.elgato.com/documentation/stream-deck/sdk/packaging/
You might need to modify the manifest.json file accordingly (especially if you don't generate both windows and macos bin).

I'd say the migration to cmake was not exactly finished. Had a bit of a hard time to get it working.
