Hide the dock when empty

Problem

So far, if the dock is empty, it appears as a small circle at the bottom of the screen, which is quite ungainly.

Proposal

It should be hidden instead, as there is no reason for it to appear.

But you do use it, right? You just dont want to keep any app pinned, only have it as a running app list ?

I agree though, that would be the most sensible in that scenario.
